She graduated from the Ornamentation Program of the Department of Traditional Turkish Handicraft, Faculty of Fine Arts, Mimar Sinan University in 1991. In 1993 she completed her master's thesis entitled "Comparison of the Ottoman, Timur and Safavid Period Miniatured Manuscript Ornamentations in the Old Yıldız Library". In 2007 she completed her art proficiency theses on “Timur Period Herat Ornamentation School”. In 2010 she completed her PhD thesis "Page Layout in Uighur Manuscripts" at the Marmara University Turkic Research Institute.
She carried out research on Uighur Manuscripts at Berlin-Brandenburgische, Akademie Der Wissenschaften, Berlin-Museum für Asiatische (The Asian Art Museum, part of the National Museum of Berlin, Foundation of Prussian Cultural Heritage) in 2011 and 2013.

She participated in many exhibitions at home and abroad. She currently continues her art works in Istanbul and is working as ornamentation instructor at the Biksad Art Workshop since 2003.
